If you love the ‘enemies to lovers’ romance troupe and a lot of drama, you may love this book and I would recommend it to you but if you are like me, it may not be for you. I must admit that the smutty parts were interesting to read, and I was happy for Waylay plus a happily ever after however, this was not what I expected at all. A lot of people can relate to these things and would empathize with the characters (which is what my 3 stars is based on) but it didn’t have to be so long (over 500 pages) and the drama never seemed to end or rather became more outrageous as the story progressed. I can understand why people liked the story so much considering the fact that “eventually” it covered themes such as childhood trauma, fear of attachment due to past experiences, abandonment, people-pleasing and so on. The main characters Naomi and Knox, including their friends seemed to be quite immature for their ages and the “banter” between them was overwhelming for me. This is one book that has reminded me once again, why I do not like the ‘enemies to lovers’ troupe. It took me a while to get into the story. As they spend more time together, a relationship of sorts develops especially after Naomi’s parents already assume the two are dating and they had to pretend they were an item. Stranded in Knockemout, Naomi tries to start a new life but her attraction to Knox makes it all complicated especially when he is giving non-committal vibes.

On her arrival to the little town of Knockemout, Virginia, she meets the handsome Knox Morgan who though grumpy, swings into action to help her and her niece Waylay who her twin had abandoned. Naomi is a runaway bride, summoned by her twin sister to bail her out of trouble. The story follows twin sisters, Naomi and Tina who are polar opposites. A lot of people on there had high praise for this book so I decided to give the author a try as I have never read any of her books. This is one of my “Instagram Made Me Buy It” purchases I made late last year.
